Prof. Eka is one of the top three neurosurgeon in Indonesia. He got his first degree as a general practitioner in 1983 and continued to study neurosurgery in Bandung. And since 2010, he has handled thousands of patients, not only from Indonesia, but also from other countries. He also contributed in developing Trans Clival, a neurosurgery technique via nostrils. He also made a revolutionary step by doing a brainstem surgery in Siloam Hospital, that is still considered as the hardest surgery compared to the others, especially in Indonesia. Because of that achievement, he became the first doctor to get an award from MURI ( Museum Rekor Indonesia). He is now the Dean of Faculty of Medicine of Universitas Pelita Harapan, as well as the Head of Neurosurgery in Siloam Hospital in Karawaci, Tangerang.
